We were lucky enough to be able to enjoy some great beer and conversation with Dennis Arnold. Dennis and his wife founded Arizona's oldest brewery Barrio Brewing Co. Even though we just met Dennis that evening it felt as though we were catching up with an old friend. The friendly atmosphere is felt through Barrio’s employees and the building itself. In fact, Dennis designed the bar to have enough area that he would have room to stand and enjoy drink and conversation with his customers. The word barrio means neighborhood and Barrio Brewing Co. has embraced that idea fully. Earlier this year Dennis made good on the idea to make Barrio Brewing 100% employee owned. It was his way of giving back to his community of individuals who helped build Barrio into what it is today. So when in Tucson be sure to stop by and enjoy some delicious food, beer and conversation. State Forty Eight is more than just a t-shirt company, it’s a movement recognized around and beyond the state it calls home. Started in 2013 by Michael, Stephen and Nicholas the brand was born from their love and appreciation for Arizona. They are a brand dedicated to bringing quality clothing for all, inspired by Arizona. As you gather from its name, State Forty Eight takes pride on its Arizona roots. Whether it is our states colors, animals, sports franchises or flag you’ll find it integrated into their products. Mike and his pup Tillman were gracious enough to spend some time with us on a Saturday morning at their newly opened Chandler headquarters. During our time together he shared his story of what desires and passions led him and his business partners to create the brand. Through their entrepreneurial spirt and hard work they have taken the brand from a boutique clothing line to a movement beloved by Arizona’s athletes, politicians, charities, businesses and anyone proud to call Arizona home. You’ll recognize the logo at professional sporting events such as the Arizona Diamondbacks, Phoenix Suns or Arizona Coyotes to major charitable organizations like Susan G. Fair Trade Cafe: Coffee With a Conscience

Rob along with our special guest host from LocalFirst AZ Kendall Jones enjoy a cup of coffee with Stephanie Vasquez at her Fair Trade Coffee shop on Roosevelt Row in Phoenix Arizona. At Fair Trade ‘coffee with a conscience’ is not simply a phrase or a marketing piece rather its a way of life. Stephanie is a former education and after some travels she felt led to open a coffee shop. A shop that focuses on the fair trade of coffee beans, organic ingredients and quality above all else. The shop is located in the downtown Phoenix Roosevelt Arts District and upon entering the shop you’ll be greeted by the sweet aroma of organic coffee and your eyes will be graced with the wonderful works of local AZ artists. Fair Trade holds a rotating art gallery supporting local up and coming artists which are all a part of the shops desire to support and build the local community. Their conversation started on the patio among the backdrop of passing automobiles and light rail train cars. The summer heat then moved them inside where you’ll hear the workings of a bustling coffee shop.
